- This is a Tie Fighter as made famous by the Star Wars movies. It is in
- Lightwave 3D format. I've seen other versions of this in various formats
- but I think mine is more detailed and accurate than others I've seen, so
- here it is.
-
- Note that I use a planar-mapped bump map for the "wings" of the Tie
- fighter and the image is included. The images name is LittleGradient.iff.
- When you load the Tie fighter object, Lightwave will tell you that an
- image is missing and ask you if you want to specify an alternate image (unless
- of course you happen to have an image called LittleGradient.iff located in
- a directory called HD0:Artwork/pictures!). Select "OK" and then select the
- included image, LittleGradient.iff, wherever you happened to put it.
-
- As this object is very detailed, it does take alot of RAM. If you wish to
- use it in a low RAM situation, I would suggest eliminating the rivets on the
- two wings and some of the details on the cockpit and the wing axles.
-
- I originally modelled this object in Imagine and converted it to LW3D format
- using Interchange (via Sculpt). Once in LW3D format, I refined the object by
- adding better attributes and eliminating unneeded polygons.
